Each year we review the goals of our business and align our Learning and Development offering to support the achievement of these objectives. Our L&D programme is comprehensive but flexible in order to suit the ever-changing needs of a dynamic market place and the demands of our employees. We recognise that there isn’t a ‘one-size fits all’ approach to learning.

That’s why we provide our employees with a wide range of tools and techniques to enable each one to continue to advance their learning in a style tailored to their own preference, ensuring that it complements the skills required for their existing role and prepares them for continued growth with our organisation.

Work Experience Placement

Galliard believe in supporting young people to improve their employability and as such encourage both pupils in the vicinity of our Head office and those currently in fulltime education in the areas in which we are building to apply for work experience placements lasting from 2 weeks to 6 weeks.

After an initial interview, students can expect to gain a valuable insight in to the world of work and are expected to contribute fully to the team and department that they have joined. Our aim is to forge lasting relationships with students as they continue in their academic journeys in the hope that a mutually beneficial partnership evolves.

Graduate Training Programme

As a graduate trainee with Galliard you can expect to start your career with us from the moment you join. Whilst being allocated a mentor from the Senior Leadership Team and a sponsor from the HR function, you will have a defined role from day one.

Your training programme will guarantee that you are exposed to all facets of the business, not only to build your own profile; but to ensure your understanding of our business - and the contribution which you can make to it – is robust. We will support your learning, both on the job and in the attainment of professional qualifications.

Apprenticeship Scheme

Working in partnership with a number of regional universities, an apprenticeship with Galliard combines classroom learning with meaningful experiences gained in both our offices and on our construction and development sites.

Mentored internally by a senior manager in the relevant subject area, apprentices will have support to grow both personally and professionally during their time with us and effectively contribute to our business. Maintaining close contact with educational establishments enables Galliard to influence the course syllabus, engage with students and their teachers alike and participate in the organisation of future schemes.
