History of Kings Langley

This suburban village in Hertfordshire saw an exciting discovery in early 1980, as the remains of an original villa from the Roman settlement was found when building a new development of houses. Kings Langley is also known for its history involving the Domesday community. In more recent history, this village also used to be the location of the covert HQ for the Polish Underground State in the Second World War.

The nation’s favourite comforting bedtime drink Ovaltine also has ties with Kings Langley as the town was home to the site of the factory which made it. The factory has since been converted into a new housing development but the listed factory façade still remains today.
