Situated just across from the Isle of Dogs, bordered by Surrey Quays, Greenwich, Bermondsey and Peckham, Deptford is known for its colourful choice of artsy independent shops, bustling markets, and trendy eateries that can often be found under the area’s scenic disused railway arches. The Goldsmiths University campus is in neighbouring New Cross and is not only a beautiful sight but is also responsible for attracting many young artists to Deptford.

Transport

A choice of Underground, Overground and rail stations can be found within the area, placing those residing in Deptford in a convenient position for commuting to and from the centre of Town. The DLR runs through the area, stopping at Deptford Bridge, directly transporting locals to key hubs such as Bank, Canary Wharf and Greenwich. The neighbourhood is also served by Southeastern which transports passengers from Deptford station to Charing Cross — the heart of London — in as little as 24 minutes. For air travel, London City Airport can be reached from Deptford Bridge station in under 30 minutes. Cyclists can make use of Cycleway 10 (formally known as Quietway 1) which starts in Greenwich, passes through Deptford, and leads all the way to Waterloo.
