Environmental Commitment

Our dedication to environmental responsibility goes beyond statements; it is embedded in every stage of our development process.

We recognise the significant impact the construction sector has on the planet and we take proactive steps to minimise these impacts, whilst enhancing environmental outcomes.

Our aim is to deliver homes and communities that are not only built to last,  but built to help to protect the future of our environment.

We are actively working to:

  • Reduce carbon emissions through efficient design, modern construction methods, and the adoption of low-carbon technologies.
  • Improve energy performance with high-quality insulation, smart systems, and renewable energy solutions.
  • Enhance biodiversity by the integration of green spaces, landscaping, and ecological enhancements into our masterplans.
  • Minimise waste through responsible sourcing, recycling initiatives, and sustainable construction practices.
  • Promote responsible water use with efficient systems and thoughtful planning that reduces consumption and improves long-term sustainability.

"Whether it be through low-carbon technologies, biodiversity enhancements, responsible procurement, or meaningful community partnerships, we are continually striving to raise standards and deliver developments that stand the test of time."

Innovative Technologies

Innovation is central to our environmental strategy.

We continuously explore in order to adopt advanced technologies that reduce our carbon footprint and enhance sustainability across our developments.

At Barrelmans Point in Ipswich, we installed air source heat pumps (ASHPs), which draw energy from the air outside to provide heating, cooling, and hot water. This low-carbon solution significantly improves energy efficiency and reduces reliance on fossil fuels.

Innovative Roofing Solutions

Our approach to sustainability extends to every element of the building, including the way we design our roofs.

At Wimbledon Grounds, we  implemented an extensive blue roof system,  a sustainable drainage solution that captures and stores rainwater to prevent flooding and reduce water pollution.

These roofs also feature native wildflower planting, which enhances local biodiversity, plus dedicated solar panels, contributing to renewable energy generation onsite. These varied elements demonstrate our commitment to integrated, nature-positive, and resilient building solutions.

Energy-Efficient Building Redesign

Our commitment to sustainability extends to our own workplaces.

At our head office, Sterling House, in Essex,  we have undertaken a comprehensive redesign to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

Key measures include the installation of modulating boilers and LED lighting. These upgrades have significantly reduced CO2e emissions by 13.4% improving long-term operational performance and cost-effectiveness.

"As we look ahead, we remain steadfast. We will continue to challenge ourselves to evolve and invest in practices that support a greener and more resilient future."
