Chiltern Street, Marylebone

Together with Frogmore, Galliard Homes acquired a former car park site on Chiltern Street. Permission was later granted to develop 44 ultra-luxury apartments now known as The Chilterns. The scheme broke new ground for Marylebone with world-renowned photographer David Bailey dressing the lobby with his work for the area’s first residents’ private gallery. This flagship development completed in 2016.

Marconi House

Marconi House

The Foster and Partners designed conversion and refurbishment of this listed building in Central London’s Strand was released in 2010 in partnership with Frogmore. Marconi House was once home to the Marconi Wireless Telegraph Company in 1912, and was in fact the very building from which the newly formed BBC made its first radio broadcast in 1922.

The Arsenal Stadium

The Drayton Park development in JV with Frogmore was part of the regeneration of the area surrounding Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium. As part of The Drayton Park Apartments sales offering, purchasers were given the bonus of an Arsenal season ticket. This development sold-out in one weekend.

Greenwich peninsula

Greenwich peninsula

Galliard purchased the whole Greenwich peninsula carved out by Deptford Creek. Situated minutes from Cutty Sark, the land was originally part of the Royal Tudor Dockyard developed by King Henry VIII and where Queen Elizabeth I knighted Sir Francis Drake after the Golden Hind circumnavigated the globe. Now known as New Capital Quay, the unique site of some 900 apartments is surrounded by water on three sides. Attracting interest from homeowners and investors alike, the sales release took place in September 2007 and more than 400 apartments were sold in just one weekend.

Park Plaza Hotel

By being amongst the first to offer hotel suites as an investment, the Park Plaza County Hall Hotel was a trailblazer for both Galliard Homes and the property investment market. The 1,200 room Park Plaza Hotel is built on the old island site which was part of the original County Hall GLC headquarters.

Regenerating Bermondsey

Regenerating Bermondsey

Bermondsey’s regeneration began when Galliard purchased a complete street of run down houses just off of the Old Kent Road and replaced them with ‘new Victorian’ houses on the original footprints. The development was so favourably received by the buying public that the pace of the regeneration of the whole area can be traced back to this pioneering project. Further schemes such as Royal Oak Yard, Long Lane and the Glass House were fundamental in the revitalisation of Bermondsey High Street

Butler’s Wharf

In 1997, again with Frogmore, Galliard Homes helped to transform car parks and derelict warehouses adjacent to Butler’s Wharf into a premier riverside postcode, with schemes including Spice Quay Heights, Tea Trade Wharf and Cayenne Court. Today these riverside addresses are world-famous for their beautifully blended mix of Victorian warehouse features with striking new-build riverside architecture. It could be said that the regeneration of Butler’s Wharf kick-started the wider renaissance in SE1.

Occupying a prime position directly behind the Royal Festival Hall, The Whitehouse Apartments on South Bank are blessed with some of the greatest river views in the Capital. Potential purchasers queued for almost two weeks for the redevelopment of this converted office building, formally occupied by Shell, in another successful JV with Frogmore.

County Hall

County Hall

Long before the London Eye or the Tate Modern, Galliard Homes was able to purchase the North and South blocks of the former GLC headquarters at County Hall, opposite the Houses of Parliament. It was one of the first of many, major successful joint ventures with Paul White and his team at Frogmore. The launch was an historic event; one bedroom flats started at £99,995 and purchasers of The County Hall Apartments queued for ten days prior to the sales release - everyone was anxious to own a piece of London history.
